
JIM SYLVESTER
Jim Sylvester, a San Diego native, began his career as a carpenter in 1976. He worked with various developers on several commercial and residential projects throughout San Diego. In 1989 he opened his first company, Sylvester Construction. The company focused on spec homes in various communities including La Jolla, Rancho Bernardo, La Costa, Poway, Solana Beach, and Del Mar. In 1991 Jim migrated specifically into the Rancho Santa Fe community.
The first development Jim created was The Tuscan Estates at Rancho Santa Fe which comprises of nine homes from 11,000 to 25,000 square feet. Jim Sylvester’s dedication and vision created a spectacular community of old world Tuscan Estates which emphasize an Italian farmhouse style, creating casual but upscale living.
Next, Jim ventured into the world renown Bridges of Rancho Santa Fe. The 540 acre gate-guarded community is made up of 6,000 to 9,000 square foot custom estates. It also houses one of the most exclusive golf courses where the “Battle at the Bridges” was held in 2005 and featured top golfers Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Retief Goosen, and John Daly.
